IpamFerry shield: a ferry connecting network nodes

IpamFerry

Active · Open source · AGPL-3.0

A self-hosted workspace for planning and executing auditable migrations from phpIPAM to NetBox. It turns a reviewed migration plan into a controlled, verifiable process.

Source on GitHub

What it does

  1. Two discovery sources

Uses the phpIPAM API or a mysqldump SQL source to discover the migration inventory.

  2. Fingerprinted plans

Builds a reviewable, destination-specific plan and requires approval of its exact fingerprint.

  3. Resumable apply

Applies through the official NetBox REST API, with checkpoints that avoid duplicating objects when a run resumes.

  4. Nothing lost silently

Exports an audit bundle and preserves unmapped or unsafe data for review instead of discarding it silently.

How it works

  1. Discover

Read the phpIPAM inventory from its API or from a mysqldump export.

  2. Plan

Generate a plan specific to the target NetBox, ready for review.

  3. Approve

Approve the reviewed plan by its exact fingerprint.

  4. Apply

Write through the official NetBox REST API, with checkpoints that avoid duplicates when a run resumes.

  5. Audit

Export the audit bundle and review data that had no safe mapping.
